Direct2Drive Moving to GameFly - What You Need to Know

We received an e-mail today that the popular PC downloading client "Direct2Drive" will be moving to GameFly at the beginning of the year. While this isn't a huge deal yet, as your Direct2Drive account will work exactly the same until the merge, there are quite a few changes that will be happening.

In order to ensure that you won't get screwed when this transfer happens, we have a few important bits o' information you are going to want to read.

Click the break to learn some knowledge.

The first, and most important thing you're going to want to do is download all of your favorite games from Direct2Drive now. While they are going to be moving every game over, it's not entirely guaranteed that everything will work perfectly well. Sort of like when you move to a new apartment and somehow lose your collector's edition copy of Final Fantasy VII.

The second thing you'll want to do is download all the Prima Guides you have ever wanted. These will not be available to you any longer, as GameFly will simply not be hosting them.

The third and final thing is to activate a GameFly account. What this merge is going to do is allow the rental of PC games for as long as you would like, for a monthly fee. Just like how GameFly works now with console games.

We have a 30-day free trial Promotion Code we are dying to give away. The first comment will receive this code.

I don't know about you, but I'm crazy excited that this is happening. Finally being able to rent a PC game and play as long as I please is going to save this guy a lot of cheddar.
