Awesome Games Done Quick, a Twitch TV speed-gaming streaming marathon raised over $1 million in a week's time.
Prevent Cancer, the nonprofit group to which they donated, witnessed a $100,000 surge in the final 24 hours of the charity, with the total being $1,007,136. This is across 27,171 donations, between 17,902 donors. Which means that each donor donated roughly $37 - a lot of money to be the average donation, that's for sure.
It's truly amazing what can be done when a great cause is brought to the public's attention.
I'm personally looking forward to more charities and am very proud of the gamer community.
