Mad Max Game Delayed to 2015

Avalanche studios have announced that their upcoming project, Mad Max has been delayed until next year. The game was originally intended for release across all platforms this year. A statement has not been released as to why the game was delayed.

So, let's get our speculation caps on.  I think that the game was delayed because of the god awful trailer. I could write a whole essay just on the trailer (which I will include after the jump).

Are they kidding with the West Coast Customs product placement on the screen?  I really don't mind product placement, provided that it fits within the confines of the game's universe. Seeing the pristine 'West Coast Customs' logo pop up when you enter a garage in the wasteland is a little jarring to say the least.

To further add insult to injury, the game is set in the US.  what?! Mad Max is Australia... terrifying, beautiful, deadly, Australia.  I think that the devs have seen the mistake they made and are trying to correct it.  Whether they will actually do that remains to be seen.  They did mention that they would give the protagonist an Australian accent, which is really not good enough.

Another reason the game might be delayed is because there are some seriously big games coming out later this year (Destiny, The Division, Evolve, Assassin's Creed and Alien : Isolation to name a few) and they might want to avoid the competition.

Here is the trailer for the upcoming game (despite being set in America they seem to drive on the right?).  Let us know what you think in the comments.
