Oh god, this looks so good. Pre-Alpha footage from the Eve: Fanfest in Reykjavik has appeared online and it looks so good. I can't wait to try this out with the Oculus Rift. It seems like such a good fit, a game where you are sitting in a chair looking around your cockpit at threats whizzing past you. I hate to use the term immersion, but if ever there was a time to use it this would be it.
It really does seem to make sense that Oculus are calling EVE: Valkyrie their flagship title. I will include a video of the new footage after the jump. For the longest time I was very sceptical about the Oculus Rift, even after I had tried it. I had a blast with it but I always thought it would never live up to it's potential, never be greater than the sum of it's parts. It's easy to understand why I thought that, and never backed the project. VR technology and games seemed like a perfect fit but it was just never pulled off right.
I really hope that this game and the many others that will come to Oculus Rift as well as Sony's Project Morpheus will prove me wrong (and it looks like they will).
